How to safely trim nails:
If your pet has light-colored nails, you can easily see the quick forming a pale pink line. Trim the tips of the nails at least 2mm away from the quick. For animals with dark nails, finding the quick is not so straightforward. Trim the nail just a little. Pay attention to the dark spot in the middle of the freshly trimmed nail - if you see it, the quick starts just behind it. Do not cut more. Always cut from the top down, holding the clippers perpendicular to the nail. Avoid cutting the nails at an angle!
