PetSafe Staywell Big Cat & Small Dog Flap Frosted is designed for large cats and small dogs. It features a unique transparent casing with a lightly frosted finish. This flap will provide your pet with freedom and independence. The cat flap can be installed in doors, walls, or windows, allowing your pet to come and go at any time. You won't have to interrupt your activities to let your furry friend out and then wait for their return.
The operation of the flap is very simple. The pet just needs to push the transparent flap with its body, and it will lift and automatically fall back into place once the pet has passed through. The Staywell Big Cat & Small Dog model has 4 opening/closing options that you can change using two dials:
- The flap opens in both directions (dials set vertically, rear caps hidden) allowing the cat to enter but not exit (dials set vertically, rear caps exposed) enabling the cat to exit but not enter (dials set horizontally, rear caps hidden) the flap is completely closed (dials set horizontally, rear caps exposed).
Magnets at the bottom edge of the flap and the frame opening keep the flap in place, preventing excess outside air from entering the home. Additionally, the edges of the flap are surrounded by a soft strip that increases protection against drafts and muffles the flap's operation. However, the Staywell Big Cat & Small Dog model can also be successfully installed inside the home to allow your pet access to a room where doors are rarely left open, such as a bathroom. It also works well as an exit to a balcony.
The Staywell Big Cat & Small Dog flap can be installed in walls, doors (including sliding doors), and windows (even double-glazed) made from the following materials: brick, wood, metal, PVC, UPVC, and glass. Installation is not complicated, and a special template and screws are included to assist you. The set also includes a tunnel with a width of 4.3 cm, which you can trim to the thickness of the wall/door. Both the frame and the flap are made from durable plastic, making the product long-lasting and weather-resistant.

Tip: To make it easier for your pet to pass through the flap, install it in such a way that the pet does not have to climb to get through.
How to teach your pet to use the flap?
After installing the flap, leave it open for a while (you can secure it with a piece of string and tape to the surface above. Ensure that the flap does not fall accidentally, as this may scare your pet). Encourage your pet to pass through the opening using its favorite food or treats. First, feed the pet at the door inside, and then at the door outside. Practice until your pet starts to pass through the opening without hesitation. Then repeat the training with the flap down so your pet learns to push the flap to exit. Pet and reward your pet every time it passes through the flap. You can also incorporate a play element into the training, such as using a cat wand.
